Websites + Marketing Themes

GoDaddy’s Website Builder offers a variety of starter template designs for businesses looking to sell online, entrepreneurs wanting to showcase their work through a portfolio, house a blog, and much more. These templates are known as themes. Each is authentic and designed to be versatile. As a Visual Designer, I focused heavily on researching our competitors, executing A/B testings, and working closely with the lead designer and engineers to understand any technical constraints.

Design

While enhancing UI elements and updating the current themes, we identified a need for more varied and fresh designs. Ultimately, the objective was to enhance and streamline the user experience. Achieving this involved incorporating competitive research and user testing.

The Challenge

Addressing gaps for both current and new customers, we acknowledged the necessity for a modern template. Managing the constraints of our evolving design system required regular coordination with developers and product managers.

Final Execution

We introduced two unique and contemporary themes: Kai and Sideline. Kai stands out with its prominent header image, the initial focal point for most website visitors. On the other hand, Sideline required an additional effort, but it resulted in the creation of our first side navigation bar theme.

Note: The themes below Sideline and Kai reflect some of the older/existing themes.
